FOOD AS TRADITION: MY FALL CANDY MIX
Every fall I make a mix of candy corn, peanuts, yogurt pretzels, caramels and candy pumpkins. I also added Reese’s Pieces this year. It just feels like fall is here when this mix comes out!
We can use the fall to have some of these little “mini traditions” to bring all of the coziness and fun of fall into our homes.
HERE ARE SOME OTHER IDEAS FOR FALL MINI-TRADITIONS:
- Make pancakes into leaves or pumpkins
- Spread apple butter on toast instead of jam
- Switch out the normal coffee creamer for pumpkin spice
- Simmer apple cider with cinnamon sticks, cloves and orange slices on the stove
- use a pumpkin cookie cutter to cut cheese pieces
- make a charcuterie board in the shape of a pumpkin
- add crushed Oreos to the top of pudding cups and decorate with candy pumpkins
- dry apples from the orchard for a healthy snack
- savor a fresh pumpkin donut on a Saturday morning
- make caramel apples
What about you? What food mini-traditions do you love in the fall?
