+DAY 2 OF FALL VIBES: MEAL PLANNING+
As a coach, I am often working with people on how they can better align their values with what happens in their practical day to day lives.
We know our values, the challenge is actually getting them to translate.
Having meals around a table seems to be a common value that is easier said than done. Most bump up against busy work schedules, kids activities and overcrowded lives.
If we want the RESULT of having a time set aside for family dinner (and family can be friends and community if you are single), then the practical application we need is MEAL PLANNING.
To get back to that secure anchor of eating together around a table, let’s set aside time at the front of the week to figure out what meals we can prep and execute to take the guess work out of it.
HERE ARE SOME OF MY BEST TIPS
+Plan meals on Sunday for the week and do whatever prep you can on Sunday night to set you up for success during the week (or do this on another day at the front of the week if it works better).
+Order groceries and have them delivered to your house. Many stores now have a price per year you can pay for unlimited grocery delivery. This saves a ton of time and you save money by not walking in the store and impulse buying.
+Have dinner “done” in your head by 10am. Meaning, you know what you are doing for dinner that night. The meat is thawing and you have a plan for what is happening at 6pm.
+if kids schedules don’t allow for a regular family dinner, do a staggered dinner but gather for dessert or a snack later when everyone is home. Keep the touchpoint with one another everyday.
