This is a perfect meal after a day on the slopes, or to feed a hungry crew. A sure crowd pleaser. I also love this meal because I can freeze it and then throw it in the crock pot. It’s warm and waiting for us when we get home.
PrintApres-Ski Hearty Spaghetti Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 2 cups onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic
- ¼ c. olive oil
- 8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
- 1 28 oz. can chopped tomatoes
- 1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
- 2 6oz can tomato paste
- 1 squeeze anchovy paste
- 3 tsp. dried oregano
- 2 tsp. dried basil
- 1/3 c. fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. salt or to taste
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 2 cups parmesan, shredded
Instructions
- Brown the meat in a large saucepan. Drain and set aside. Brown onion in the same pan using a little olive oil. Add garlic after about 8-10 min. Sauté for 1 min. Add the rest of the ingredients (except the parmesan) and simmer for 2 hours. When done, add 1 cup parmesan to the mixture. Stir. Serve over spaghetti and sprinkle with rest of the parmesan.
