Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies coming out of the oven on the first day of school are a tradition in our family. You will LOVE this recipe!
½ cup Crisco
½ c. butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
3/4 tsp. Salt
2 tsp. Vanilla
2 ½ cups four
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp. Baking powder
1 cup chocolate chips
Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)
Beat crisco, butter, and sugars until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Add vanilla and mix.
Slowly add flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
Stir in the chocolate chips (add more if you like – I don’t like too many in the cookie)
Place on a baking sheet and slightly flatten. Sprinkle sea salt flakes over the top (optional).
Bake at 350 for 8 min.
These are the very, very best!
