Mama’s Favorite Fish Tacos


Mama doesn’t even really like fish, but Mama loooooooovvvvvvvvveeeeeesssss these!  What’s not to like?  Savory Halibut topped with tangy guacamole, cilantro, lettuce and tomatoes.


Mama’s Favorite Fish Tacos


  • 5 fresh Halibut Fillets
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 2 Limes
  • 3  sliced Avocado
  • 1 juiced Lemon
  • 2 minced Garlic Cloves
  • 1/2   tsp. Cayenne Pepper
  • 1  cup Plain Yogurt
  • 1  tsp. Sea Salt
  • 2 chopped Plum Tomatoes
  • 1  sliced thin Green Onions
  • Tortillas
  • 1  head Romain Lettuce


  1. For the Halibut, preheat a grill pan to high heat.  Drizzle the fish with olive oil to prevent from sticking.  Season the halibut with salt and pepper.  Grill for 5 min. per side or until opaque.  Sprinkle the halibut with lime juice and remove to a serving platter. Flake the halibut into large chunks with a fork.
  2. For the guacamole, combine the avacados, lemon juice, garlic, cayenne pepper, yogurt and salt in a blender.  Process until smooth.  remove the guacamole to a bowl and stir in the tomatoes and green onions.
  3. For the tacos, heat the tortillas in a hot grill pan until blistered.  Place 2-3 tbsp. fish on each tortilla.  Top with guacamole and romaine.  Fold around the filling.
